2nd Annual Quilt Block Contest
Theme: “Around the Farmyard”
Create a quilt block inspired by anything found, grown, raised, or made on or around the farm. Ideas may include farm animals, crops, gardening, tools, equipment, buildings, boots, hats, bees, or everyday farm activities and traditions. Also, a traditional quilt block pattern with a farm related name will be accepted (ex. Hole in Barn Door, Hen and Chicks, Farmer’s Daughter, etc.).
PSACF Special Apron Contest
Theme: “Showcasing Fairs & Carnivals”
Grab your favorite fair-themed fabric! The PSACF Special Apron Contest celebrates “Showcasing Fairs & Carnivals.” Pennsylvania residents may enter one handmade apron — half or bib style — sewn in 2026. Judges look at appearance, creativity, workmanship, and design, and our first-place winner moves on to the 2027 PA Farm Show contest.

Department 22 - Quilt Block Contest

Rules:
- Each block must be entered measuring 12 1⁄2” x 12 1⁄2”. This is the unfinished size. So when creating your block choose a
pattern for a 12” finished block. - Background fabric must be a white, white on white or tiny color print on white. NO creams, tans or off-whites for
backgrounds. All other fabric is designers choice. - Each block must be made of 100% cotton fabric and prewashed to prevent bleeding.
- No Embellishments (buttons, charms, beading, or paint may be included). Embroidery is allowed.
- One entry per exhibitor for judging.
- Blocks may not include batting or backing and may not be quilted.
- You may sign and date your block if you choose, not required.

Department 22 - PSACF Special Apron Contest

Rules:
- Exhibitor must be a resident of Pennsylvania–one entry per person.
- Primary Fabric should be themed material showcasing fairs and/or carnivals.
- Apron must have been made in 2026.
- Types/styles accepted:
- Half Apron
- Bib Apron
- Aprons will be judged on workmanship, worth of article, and appropriateness of material and design.
- Overall Appearance 25 points
- Creativity 25 points
- Workmanship/Suitability 30 points
- Design/Color. 20 points
- First place overall winner from each fair will be eligible to enter their apron in the 2027 PA State Farm Show contest.
